​Rescue 15 responded with Sta. 7 EMS to Rte 435, near Rte 348 (ROARING BROOK) for a vehicle with one occupant confined inside. R15 crew stabilized the van and utilized a hydraulic combi tool to extricate the victim for transport to the hospital.

Rescue 15 responded to mm 24 N Interstate 380 (ROARING BROOK)  for a van rollover.into the median. 1 patient was out of the vehicle and refused EMS transport. PSP, Moscow EMS, and Pennsylvania Ambulance also responded.


#21     Feb 12     9:30          Activated Residential Alarm

Station 15, with Sta. 29 and Sta. 56, was dispatched to Woodland Drive (ROARING BROOK) for a report of an activated smoke alarm. A proper passcode was received from the alarm company, reporting a false activation. Command went to the scene to investigate and had all companies standby...then canceled. 

#04    Jan 07     10:31          Hazardous Materials Incident

Engine and Tanker 15 were dispatched to assist Station 29 on Rte 247 (JEFFERSON) at a car vs. tractor-trailer MVA. There were no injuries, but there was a large spill of diesel fuel from the ruptured fuel tank of the truck. Engine 15 crew assisted with the placement of traffic donesabsorbent pads, HAZMAT booms, and absorbent material. Tanker 15 was initially used to shut down the roadway but was released after other resources arrived for traffic control.

Engine and Tanker 15 responded to Laurel Road (SPRINGBROOK) for a working structure fire. Engine crew was assigned to ladder the rear of the building and work fire attack. When building collapse was imminent, Evacuation tones were activated and all units worked exterior attack. Tanker 15 shuttled water supply with the NP Mutual Aid tankers. Freezing 11 degree temperature made operations more difficult for apparatus.

Engine 15 responded to Appletree Road (MOSCOW) for an activated residential alarm. Upon arrival, Command 7 determined it was a false activation and returned our Engine to service.

#31     Feb 26                Airplane with problem

Tanker 15 responded to the Scranton/Wilkes Barre International Airport (MOOSIC) for a report of an incoming airplane with landing gear problems. Tanker 15 arrived on scene and the plane landed safely. All units returned to service.

#38     Mar 10                         Motor Vehicle Accident

Rescue 15 responded with Station 7 EMS to Route 307 near Lake Scranton for a vehicle crash, into the woods. First units on scene reported 1 victim, self-extricated. Patient refused EMS care.  All units returned to service.

Chief 15 responded to Tioga Street (ELMHURST) placed Engine 15 and Sta. 7 EMS on standby while investigating a report of wires on the roadway. It was determined to be Cable TV wires. Hazard removed. All returned to service.

​Rescue 15 responded to Route 348 (ROARING BROOK) for a report of a one vehicle accident. Command 15, first on scene, reported no injuries and no need for Rescue.

Brush 15 responded to Canterbury Court for a residential Carbon Monoxide alarm activation. The dept. multi-gas meter was used. Resident explained he had a propane heater vent that was blocked by the snow. The exhaust was cleared.

​Rescue 15 responded to Route 307 (ROARING BROOK) at the entrance to the Scranton Water Treatment Plant for a one vehicle MVA in icy conditions. Command reported on victim needing EMS evaluation and placed the Rescue back in service.    

​#62     Apr 22     15:26          Motor Vehicle Accident

​Rescue 15 was dispatched for a one vehicle MVA on Rte. 590. Original location was to be near the Elmhurst Reservoir, but it was actually near Line Road (JEFFERSON TWP.) Command on scene notified Comm Center of confinement and the Station 29 coverage area. Officer 29 on scene placed Station 29 units back into service. Station 7 EMS on scene handled patient evaluation.

​Rescue 15 responded to Rte. 307 near Smith Road (ROARING BROOK) for a one vehicle accident. The vehicle rolled over, landing again on it's wheels. EMS handled patient evaluation, all units placed back in service.

​Rescue 15 responded to Windsor Way (ROARING BROOK) for a report of an adult locked out of the home, with a child in the home. Asst. Engineer 15 and Roaring Brook Police Department arrived on scene and gained access. The Rescue was canceled. 

​#60     Apr 21     14:17          Activated Alarm

​Station 15, Tanker 7 and Sta. 7 EMS were dispatched to Highland Drive (ROARING BROOK) for an activated residential fire alarm. While assembling, the homeowner provided a proper passcode and said it was a false alarm caused by steam. CH 15 investigated, all units returned to service.

Rescue 15 responded to Route 307 (ROARING BROOK) for a one vehicle crash, report of the vehicle smoking. One passenger ejected. Sadly, the accident involved one fatality.

​Station 15, Tanker 7 and Sta. 7 EMS were dispatched to Wellington Drive (ROARING BROOK) for an activated residential alarm.  The alarm

company reported a false alarm confirmed with proper passcode. Portable 7-15 was first on scene and reported it was an artificial smoke machine for a New Year's celebration which caused a false activation.

​#63     Apr 23     00:27          Motor Vehicle Accident

​Resuce 15 with Sta. 7 EMS and Commonweath 4 responded to Blue Shutters Road (ROARING BROOK) for a one vehicle accident. Vehicle left the roadway on a curve and entered the trees. No driver was on scene, but there were reports of a person on foot leaving the area. Search of the area found no-one. Rescue crew provided scene safety while the vehicle was removed, then returned to service.

​Rescue 15 responded to Interstate 84E (ROARING BROOK) for a two vehicle MVA. Rescue 7 and Sta. 7 EMS,  MICU7 were dispatched to assist with heavy entrapment. Sadly, this accident involved 1 fatality.

​Rescue 15 responded to Rte. 435 (ELMHURST) for a report of a baby locked in a car. Arriving on scene, Roaring Brook Police Department was able to gain access to the vehicle. No harm to the child, or the vehicle.

Engine 15 responded to Wilson Drive (ROARING BROOK) for a report of a sewer gas smell in the residence. Multi-gas meters were utilized with no hazards identified.

Rescue 15 responded to I-84W @ mm 23.6 for a one vehicle roll-over. Upon arrival, no occupant was located. Shortly afterward, the occupant was located with PSP and EMS.

Rescue 15 responded to Route 435 for a one vehicle rollover.  One patient was self-extricated.

Stations 15 and 7 were dispatched to Marlesa Place (ROARING BROOK) for an activated residential alarm. Chief 15 arrived quickly and reported a cooking incident...all units returned to service.

#19     Feb 09     16:57          Vehicle Fire

Station 15 was dispatche to St. Mary's Villa Road (ELMHURST) for a report of a fully involved vehicle fire near a commercial structure. The NP Mutual Aid structure box alarm companies were also dispatched. Command reported a vehicle with a smoking engine compartment and returned all companies except Sta. 7 and Sta. 15. The fire was contained to the vehicle and extinguished.

​A Structure Box alarm was dispatched to the Elmhurst Twp. Sewer Authority on Municipal Lane (ELMHURST) when there was the smell of a possible electrical fire. Command 15 returned all companies with the exception of Stations 15 and 7 and performed a search/investigation of the building.

​Engine 15 was dispatched to Clover Lane (MOSCOW) for an activated residential fire alarm. Homeowner notified Comm Center it was caused by cooking. Command 7  investigated and placed all units back in service.

Rescue 15 was dispatched,  but placed  back in service by Chief 15..to Route 307 (ROARING BROOK) for a report of a transformer sparking. Nothing was located.

Engine 15 responded to Route 348 (ROARING BROOK) for an engine compartment fire in a sedan. The fire was controlled with a dry chemical extinguisher.

​Engine and Tanker 15 were dispatched to the Elmhurst Blvd. on an assist to DUNMORE Station 6 for an activated residential fire alarm. Command 6 placed our units on standby while they investigated. After confirming a false activation, all units returned to service.

Rescue 15, with Rescue 7,  Sta. 7EMS, and PA EMS responded to Blue Shutters Road/St. Mary's Villa Road for a two vehicle accident. Sadly, this accident involved 1 fatality.

Rescue and Brush 15 responded to Lake Scranton (ROARING BROOK) to assist Sta. 7 EMS in accessing and escorting patients to safety following a tornado passing over the area.

Engine and Brush 15 responded to Route 307 (ROARING BROOK) for a report of sparking power lines. After the power to the lines was cut by PPL, units extinguished small brush fires before returning to service.

Rescue 15 was requested by Sta. 29 (JEFFERSON) to assist an an MVA on Wimmers Road, with confinement. While en-route, Command 29 on scene reported the occupant was out of the vehicle, Rescue 15 was placed back into service.

​Engine 15 responded to Parkview Road (MOSCOW) to assist Station 7 at an activated residential fire alarm. Upon arrival, firefighters did a visual inspection from the exterior until the key-holder arrived. An interior inspection determined there was a faulty alarm on the second floor.

Sta. 15 was dispatched to Town House Place (ROARING BROOK) for an activated residential alarm. After dispatch, Comm Center reported the alarm company received a proper passcode for a false alarm. Chief 15 investigated and placed all units on standby, until canceled.

Station 15 was dispatched, but canceled, for an accidental alarm transmission from Municipal Lane(ELMHURST) during the installation/testing of a new alarm system​.

Rescue 15 responded to Route 435 between Chico's Curve and Rte 348 (ROARING BROOK) for a victim thrown approx. 50 feet over an embanment as the result of an MVA.  Rescue crew deployed ropes & rigging for a Z-Rig used to raise the victim to the roadway and into the hands of EMS.

​Station 15 apparatus responded to Griffin Road (ELMHURST) for an activated smoke alarm. Chief 15 reported a commercial kitchen with a smoke condition caused by residue on a grill. Natural ventilation was used to clear the area. All units returned to service.

Throop Rescue and Hamlin Rescue had been placed on standby and responded to a Motor Vehicle Crash at the intersection of Route 435 and 348 (ROARING BROOK) while Station 15 was operating on the structure fire in  Springbrook. They performed extrication duties and handled a large fuel/HazMat spill, calling in Lackawanna County EMA.

Engine and Brush 15 responded to Sunset Lane (ROARING BROOK) for a report of a brush fire. Brush 15 used one Indian Tank to extinguish a small campfire.

​Rescue 15 responded along with Station 7 EMS to Interstate 380 (ROARINBG BROOK) for a reported "spin out" into a guide rail.

​PSP on scene canceled our apparatus after determining there were no injuries.

​Rescue 15 responded with Sta. 7 EMS to East Interstate 84 @mm 4 (ROARING BROOK) to a one vehicle accident, car on it's side. The occupant was self extricated, debris on the roadway. Road conditions were extremely icy. While at this incident, there was a second crash in our coverage area on Route 307 which was handled by Rescue 7 and Sta. 7 EMS.

Station 15 was dispatched, but immediately canceled, for an activated pull station on Church Street (MOSCOW). It was reported to be an accidental pull in the gym.

​Tanker 15 was dispatched to assist the City of SCRANTON at  reported fire at Wendy's on Wyoming Ave.  Command canceled our tanker while it was en-route.        

​#51     Apr 05     02:31          Structure Fire

​Station 15 responded to Route 435 (ELMHURST) for a working garage fire with other structures/vehicles threatened. This property belonged to one of our own firefighters. The fire was contained to two side by side garages. The nearby home and one vehicle sustained heat damage, but no fire extension. Mutual Aid companies responded from Station 7, 14, and 56.

Station 15 was dispatched to Donny Drive (ROARING BROOK) on an assist Sta. 7 EMS with a lift assist for a 58 year old male, fall victim. Personnel responded to the scene and assisted.

​Brush Truck 15 responded to Gardner Road (ROARING BROOK) for a report of wires down. Low hanging wires were located and determined not to be affecting traffic or scene safety. Brush Truck returned to service.

#05     Jan 07     22:42          Carbon Monoxide Incident

Rescue and Engine 15 responded to Windsor Way (ROARING BROOK) for an activated residential CO alarm. Moscow EMS also responded. Investigation did find elevated CO readings in the home, related to an issue with a coal-burning furnace.

#68-79     Apr 01-02               Severe Wind Storm Damage

Rescue15, Brush 15 and Engine 15, in addition to firefighter Personal Vehicles, responded to multiple calls along Blue Shutters Road (ROARING BROOK) and it's crossstreets for large trees down on houses and wires. Many streets were blocked by trees and debris. Firefighters worked with chain saws to cut and clear. In addition, inspections of power lines and residences in the area were done to determine if additional resources were needed.  PPL, Comcast, Verizon were all notified of problem areas.

Chief 15 tested the operation status of the Knox Box key system at St. Mary's Villa complex. (ELMHURST)

​Engine 15 responded to Church Street (MOSCOW) to assist Station 7 at an activated commercial fire alarm. Comm Center reported a proper passcode was received from the premises. Command 7 returned all units.

#35     Mar 02     06:00          Tree Down

​Brush 15 responded to Memorial Drive (ELMHURST) for a large tree blocking the roadway. Chain saws were utilized to remove the hazard.

#16     Jan 28     20:25          CO Incident

​Engine and Rescue 15 with Sta. 7 EMS responded to Rte. 435 (ROARING BROOK) for a report of a sulfur smell in a residence. One victim was complaining of headache symptoms.  Command determined a faulty coal stove had caused elevated Carbon Monoxide readings in the home. Sta. 7 EMS handled patient evaluation. Sta. 15 crews ventilated the residence until CO readings were normal. Residents were transferred to care of Red Cross for temporary housing.

​Rescue 15 responded with Sta. 7 EMS to Route 590, near Golf Course Road (ROARING BROOK) for a one car rollover. Occupant was self-extricated and Rescue 15 was returned to service.
