Froggy 101 Plans Campfire Concert to Benefit Fire Company
Country music station Froggy 101 is planning thier next Up Close And Personal Concert with a new twist, an outdoor concert with a campfire. The event is open for all ages and is scheduled for Saturday night, August 7, beginning at 8:00pm with music around dusk. The event is free with food served by the fire company. So bring your chairs and blankets and be ready for a night of music by Williams Riley and ThompsonSquare. This will be a B.Y.O.B. event. We hope to see you here.

Tanker 15 Participates in Area Events
On Thursday, July 22 the tanker and crew was once again asked to go to Marywood University to help out with Camp Cadet. During the night,  the cadets learned about the different areas of  emergency services. Camp Cadet is run by The Pennsylvania State Police Troop R .

On Friday, July 23, Tanker 15 and crew were at the Wilkes Barre, Scranton Airport while firefighters recieved training on aircraft firefighting. Crews spent most of the day practicing thier firefighting and rescue skills on a simulated plane on fire.

Keep The Memories Alive

As prom and graduation seasons arrive, Roaring Brook Township Police Chief Donald Hickey and members of the fire company team up to provide a reminder to Buckle Up and Don't Drink and Drive.

With Our Deepest Sympathy

It is with deep regret that the Elmhurst Roaring Brook Volunteer Fire Company announce the passing of former treasurer Donald F. Smith on April 28.  We could always count on Don and his wife Judy to volunteer working one of our game stands during our annual picnic.His son, Douglas was also a member of our department. Please keep his wife Judy, sons Donald Jr., Douglas, thier families and friends in your thoughts and prayers.


Off Road Rescue Trailer

The members of station 15 recently placed into service an off road rescue trailer to be used to transport  hunters, ATV riders or any other injured person to an ambulance. The trailer can be towed near the scene and then hooked to an ATV to reach the injured victim. We would like to thank Kramers Pressure Washing for helping us build this.

Blue Mass and Installation Dinner
St. Eulalias was the setting on Saturday January 30 for our annual Blue Mass and Installation Dinner. Members, family, and friends attended and enjoyed dinner, the installation of new officers, awards and dancing. Several of our members received awards that evening.

Another Firefighter Achieves FF1
Congratulations to firefighter Nick Wascovich on attaining Fire Fighter 1 Certification. Nick is our 15th member to get this certification. Great job!!!
                         

Station 15 at the Olde Brook Inn!
Throughout the month of January the Olde Brook Inn on 307 is proudly running a fundraiser for Station 15. Every Monday and Tuesday the Olde Brook will donate 10% of all food sales and $2 for every tray of pizza sold! Please come out any night and support us!  

Congratulations to Fire Fighter Karen Loessy
On Friday, December 4, 2009 Elmhurst- Roaring Brook Fire Fighter Karen Loessy became a member of the District of Columbia Fire Department. Karen graduated from recruit class 359 and was the class Salutatorian along with receiving the Academic Excellence Award. Karen was assigned to Engine Company 26 of the D.C.F.D. We are so proud of her accomplishments.

 
Here Comes Santa Claus !
We just recieved a request from the North Pole asking us if we could provide a fire truck to escort Santa to The Roaring Brook Township Tree lighting festivities. Santa will arrive courtesy of Engine 15 shortly after 6:00pm on Sunday, December 13th. Stop by and meet Santa, there will be an arts & craft project for the kids along with cookies and hot chocolate. Model Train Display
Several of our members belong to the Anthracite Hi- Railers Model Train Club. They will be hosting several open houses during the holiday season. They will be located in the rear of The Vital Link Building located on route 690 ( Church Street) in Moscow. The open houses are scheduled from 1:00pm until 5:00pm on the following Saturdays, 12th, 19,26th and also on Friday January 1st and Saturday January 2nd.

Annual Chicken BBQ


Station 15's annual chicken BBQ will be held on October 11th, 2009 at St Eulalia's Church Hall from noon to 5. Dinners cost $8 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets will be available from any member and a limited number at the door.


Fund Drive 2009!


We, the volunteers of the Elmhurst- Roaring Brook Fire Department are your providers of fire and rescue services. For 62 years we have responded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 2008, we responded over 240 times to help those in need. Now we are asking for your help. Our hope is that you can donate $35.00 to help us fund our equipment to help better serve you!  Please return your fund drive today.


 

Station 15 Takes a Tour

On the night of August 25th 2009 members from Station 15 took full advantage of  touring the new North Pocono High School. Members walked the halls and learned different procedures needed in a time of crisis. By taking the time to get used to the school we feel we will be able to operate better during an emergency.


Camp Cadet

On Thursday July 23rd members from Station 15 took Tanker 15 down to Marywood College for a special event. This event was held for students attending the Pennsylvania State Police Camp Cadet Program. Tanker 15 along with Ladder and Rescue 23 from Dickson City, Lackawanna Ambulance, and members from Blakley Hose Company spent the evening with the cadets teaching them about the fire service. All 71 cadets had the opportunity to spray an inch and a half attack line off of Tanker 15. Station 15 is proud to be apart of teaching young students about the fire service! Parade Award!!

At the Covington Township Volunteer Fire Company (Station 14) Parade Station 15 won the following awards; Most Members in the Line of March and Best in Show.

Members Earn Firefighter I Certification

Over the past few months 12 of Station 15's members have been working hard to achieve the state certification of Firefighter I. Congratulations to all members who spent their time training, studying, and practicing the skills needed to pass the test with flying colors. The following members attained the FFI certification: John Andrzejewski, Joseph Antosh, John Evanchyk,  Henry Hinz, Duane Hoover, Gene Koch, Ken Motichka, Rich Motichka, Eric Schield, Walter Serowinski, Wayne Smith and Paul Trygar.  Mark Lamberti and Karen Loessy had already attained the FF I certification.


Parade Award!!

At the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Company (station 29) parade Rescue 15 won best appearing Rescue!
